Intricate features of electron and hole skew scattering in semiconductors

We study features of mobile carriers' skew scattering in nonmagnetic semiconductors emerging due to a combination spin-orbit coupling crystal band structure and nontrivial inner impurities. In particular, we show that nonzero magnetic moment the impurity generally leads anomalous Hall effect (AHE) absence spin polarization carriers, arising from spin-independent asymmetry exchange interaction. analyze bulk zinc-blende for both electron hole states emphasize crucial role emergent AHE valence holes. also revisit quantum wells showing cancellation extrinsic contribution common two-dimensional systems can be lifted off depending on wave function structure.
